Alyson Cluck is a PhD student studying modern and contemporary Latin American art with Dr. Abigail McEwen. Her MA thesis, “Radical Acts and Archives: Reframing Conceptualism in New York and Rosario,” investigated the institutionalization of conceptualism in the global north and south through a discussion of politics, contemporaneity, and display. Prior to enrolling at Maryland, she earned an MA in Humanities and Social Thought from New York University and a BA in Anthropology and Latin American Studies from Wesleyan University. She previously worked as a curatorial assistant at the Frick Art & Historical Center in Pittsburgh and as an exhibitions/publications coordinator and press officer at NYU’s Grey Art Gallery.
