Faculty

At the University of Maryland, professors combine active publication with a commitment to excellence in teaching. We are a thirteen-member faculty employing a broad range of methodologies and working in art-historical and interdisciplinary fields spanning Africa, the Americas, Asia, and Europe from ancient times to the present.

We mentor our students in all aspects of their professional development: research and publication, classroom instruction, and museum internships. Our courses place the methods and objectives of art history in their many contexts. Teacher-training is fundamental to our mission; our outstanding success in this area has earned University-wide recognition.
