Tess Korobkin to join the Department of Art History and Archaeology in fall 2019

Tess KorobkinThe Department is very pleased to announce that Tess Korobkin will join the Department beginning the fall semester of 2019. Tess, who this coming year will hold a post-doctoral James Smithson Fellowship at the Smithsonian Institution, focuses on art and visual culture of the United States in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. Her particular interests within this field are in histories of sculpture, representations of race and violence, and the politics of materiality and intermediality. Her book project, Sculptural Bodies of the Great Depression, examines the public life of figurative sculpture in the Depression-era.
