The Writing and Research Advisor (WRA) provides writing assistance for undergraduate students enrolled in upper (300 and 400) level art history courses. The WRA offers technical writing coaching for students engaged in writing term papers, and also helps refine existing writing/research skills specific to students studying art history. Appointments with the WRA run 45 minutes, and allow students time to discuss substantive writing issues with the WRA. The goal of meetings with the WRA is to produce better student writers—to provide students with knowledge and skills that they can then use to edit and improve their own writing.
Students enrolled in 200-level Art History classes should first take advantage of their TAs for writing assistance. Remember: your TA is a wonderful repository of knowledge and experience about art historical writing in particular and academic writing in general. If a student in a 200-level course needs additional writing assistance, meetings with the WRA may be arranged in consultation with the TA and the WRA.
