Departmental Awards Open to All Undergraduates
The Mark H. Sandler Endowed Undergraduate Experience Award
The Mark H. Sandler Endowed Undergraduate Experience Award provides annual funds for undergraduate students in the department so that they may supplement and/or cover the financial costs associated with experiential learning opportunities such as internships, research or service learning.
Departmental Awards for Juniors
The Judith K. Reed Scholarship
This endowed award is named in honor of Mrs. Judith K. Reed, a former student of the department, and was established by Leonard Reed in 1985 to honor his wife and to offer financial support for a talented “rising senior” studying art history at the University of Maryland.
Departmental Awards for Graduating Seniors
The Judith K. Reed Commencement Award
This endowed award is named in honor of Mrs. Judith K. Reed, a former student of the department, and was established by Leonard Reed in 1985 to honor his wife. The award, given annually, recognizes the outstanding accomplishments of a graduating senior.
The George Levitine Book Award
This endowed award is named for the former chair of the Department of Art History and Archaeology at the University of Maryland, a distinguished scholar under whose leadership the department grew and flourished. Each year, this award is given to a graduating senior in recognition of their fine scholarship.
The Frank DiFederico Book Award
This endowed award is named for a beloved former professor who taught both Baroque and modern topics. The award, given annually, honors a graduating senior’s outstanding scholarship and service to the undergraduate community.
