Charline Fournier Petit is a PhD candidate studying Eighteenth-Century European sculpture with Professor Anthony Colantuono. She is primarily interested in Eighteenth-Century Italian sculpture, and her research considers processes of creation, sculpture practices and materiality.

She received her BA in Art History with a specialization in sculpture from l'Ecole du Louvre in Paris in 2008. She also graduated with a BA in law from the Sorbonne University in Paris in 2011. Relocating to Chicago, she worked at the Art Institute of Chicago in the European painting and sculpture department for two years. She completed her MA in Art History from the University of Chicago in 2017. Her thesis explored Canova's bozzetti, aesthetic in the context of late Eighteenth-Century art history as well as sculpture practices. After graduating, she has held an internship at the National Gallery in Washington D.C. within the sculpture department. Charline's professional experience includes also work for Sotheby's Paris, Decorative Art department at the Louvre Museum, and the cultural service of the French Consulate in Chicago.
