TLTC Training, "Creating an Inclusive Classroom" | April 2022

"Creating an Inclusive and Anti-Racist Classroom"

On April 22, 2022, the Department of Art History and Archaeology hosted a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion retreat for all members of the department community. Nine faculty members, four staff members, and eleven graduate students attended. The agenda had two parts. In the morning, TLTC Learning Experience Designer Louisa Nkrumah, M.Ed. facilitated a session entitled “Creating Inclusive and Anti-Racist Classrooms and Courses.” After lunch, six members of the ARTH DEI task force (Amanda Chen, Zoe Copeman, Dr. Emily Egan, Dr. Quint Gregory, Marco Polo Juarez Cruz and Dr. Tess Korobkin) facilitated a session to revise the departmental statement of commitment to anti-racism and diversity, equity and inclusion and to brainstorm individual and collective actions to fulfill that commitment.

Here you'll find all the resources collated from this retreat on how to transform existing courses and build new ones with inclusion and anti-racism in mind. Each resource is provided as a google document that you may copy to your own account.
