BISS Training, "Responding to BIAS & Microaggressions" | December 2022

"'Stop the Hate': Responding to BIAS & Microaggressions"

On December 7th, 2022, the Department of Art History & Archaeology hosted a BISS (Bias Incident Support Services) training for all members of the department community. The training had two parts and was facilitated by the Program Manager of BISS, Brian Medina and hir student assistant Joyce Jang. The first focused on providing resources and tools on how to recognize and report bias at the University of Maryland. The second allowed members of the community to discuss and brainstorm how to respond to common forms of bias and microaggressions in the classroom.

Here you'll find all the resources collated from this training on how to report and respond to bias. Each resource is provided as a google document that you may copy to your own account. More information can be found on the BISS webpage here: https://diversity.umd.edu/bias
