Filippo Grassi is a first-year PhD student studying contemporary Chinese art under the mentorship of Professor Jason Kuo. He hails from the hills and factories of Brianza, a region with vague geographical borders but strong sense of belonging near Milan, Italy. Filippo holds both a Bachelor's and a Master's degree in Chinese Language and Culture from Ca’ Foscari University of Venice. His academic journey led him to enriching experiences through exchange programs in the USA (five months at Georgia State University) and Taiwan (one year at Fujen Catholic University).

His research focuses on cultural identity and the modern reinterpretation of tradition within the realm of contemporary Chinese art. In the three years following his graduation, he worked as a web developer for an art gallery in Milan, an opportunity that allowed him to strengthen his programming skills and nurture his keen interest in Digital Humanities.
