Xiaohan Wang is a Ph.D. student in Chinese Art History at the University of Maryland, advised by Professor Jason C. Kuo. Her research examines Chinese material culture between the tenth and sixteenth centuries, with particular attention to the production, circulation, and cultural significance of ceramics.
She received dual bachelor’s degrees in Economics and History of Art and Architecture from Boston University, graduating with honors and the Department Prize in History of Art and Architecture in May 2023. She subsequently pursued advanced training in Chinese Art History under Professor Nancy Steinhardt at the University of Pennsylvania, earning a Master of Arts in East Asian Languages and Civilizations in May 2025. During her graduate studies, she also served as a research assistant at the Penn Museum, where she employed non-invasive analytical methods to investigate a Tang dynasty horse in the collection.
