Dana Persaud and Prof. Jordana Moore Saggese to receive ARHU Service Awards!
October 13, 2026
Recognition that is both timely and hugely deserved
Department Chair Karin Zitzewitz proudly announced last week that "Ms. Dana Persaud has been awarded the 2026 ARHU Staff Service Award in the category of service to the department and that Dr. Jordana Moore Saggese has been awarded the 2026 ARHU Faculty Service Award in the category of service to the college."
Both are recognized for truly outstanding service in their respective categories.
Dana's staff colleagues nominated her for the Staff Service Award, and virtually every member of faculty and the graduate student cohort weighed in with effusive praise for Dana's capacity to create in the Department a warm and supportive environment that creates for each graduate student their best chance at success (a note: the famously camera-shy Dana is here represented by her stand-in, Sue, seen munching through bureaucratic red tape!).
Prof. Saggese was nominated by Prof. Zitzewitz and Dr. Tess Korobkin along with Prof. Christina Hanhardt, Chair of American Studies for her "truly transformative leadership of the Driskell Center," which currently is celebrating its 25th year in many ways, all focused around the truly excellent exhibition Jubilee: Celebrating 25 Years of the Driskell Center.
Both awards will be presented at the ARHU Assembly, which will be held this year on Thursday, October 22nd, at 11:00 in the Ulrich Recital Hall, Tawes Hall. Make plans to be there!
Congratulations to you both! You deserve all the flowers!
