Kevin Tervala Named Chief of Curatorial Affairs and Exhibitions at Minneapolis Institute of Arts

Baltimore Native Got His Start with Departmental Honors here at UMD

Kevin Tervala, who for the past ten years has worked at the Baltimore Museum of Art, eventually as its Chief Curator, has been named by Minneapolis Institute of Arts as its Chief of Curatorial Affairs and Exhibitions. Kevin graduated from the University of Maryland with a BA with departmental honors in Art History and Archaeology before securing his PhD at Harvard University. A specialist in arts and culture of Africa, Kevin has curated many exhibitions at the BMA, Kevin curated A Perfect Power: Motherhood and African Art and Kuba: Fabric of an Empire.

We could not be more proud of Kevin in his continued professional trajectory and wish him all the success at MIA.
