Madeleine will draw on impressive linguistic skills to support her research
Building on a passion for Asian art history that first developed as an undergraduate in our Department, Madeleine Willette (B.A. 2024), will begin her M.A. work on Asian art history at the Regional Studies East Asia (RSEA) Program at Harvard University this fall. She has received full funding support for her program of study, a rarity for students in the program. Madeleine plans to write a thesis on a topic relating to Japanese art and its connections to the colonization of Korea. Her research will be supported by exemplary language skills. She holds the highest qualifications in both the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT N1) and the Test of Proficiency in Korean (TOPIK 6). After the program, Madeleine plans to either move on to curatorial roles in Japan or continue with a PhD program.
Congratulations Madeleine!
